Questions

FAQ

Frequently asked questions about 2D, 3D and 4D ultrasound at Living Images.

How safe is ultrasound?

Ultrasound has been used in obstetrics for decades. Living Images keeps sessions focused on keepsake viewing and encourages clients to maintain regular prenatal care with their medical provider.

Is 4D ultrasound better than 3D?

3D creates still images with depth; 4D adds motion/video. Both can help you see facial features depending on baby position and gestational age.

How long does it take to get good pictures?

Every baby is different. Hydration, baby position and gestational age can affect the view. The Meet Me package is often best around 28–35 weeks for fuller facial images.

Is there anything mom can do to help?

Drink water in the days before the appointment and follow any instructions provided when scheduling. A cooperative baby position helps the most.

Can you determine sex of the baby?

Gender reveal begins at a minimum of 15 weeks gestation, when baby position allows.

What is the scanning time for each package?

Itty Bitty includes approximately 10 minutes of scanning, Gender Reveal approximately 15 minutes, and Meet Me provides a longer viewing session.
